Baseball, Books, and ... I need a third B

One guy's random thoughts on things of interest -- books, baseball, and whatever else catches my attention in today's hectic world.

Sci-Fi nerd post

Which sci-fi crew would you feel most "at home" with? Click here to find out. [Warning, the quiz is a little long.]

I will admit that I was a little disappointed. I really wanted to end up on Serenity, but I guess being on the Millenium Falcon is not such a bad gig. I think my results might have been overly biased by question 1.

Anyway, give it a shot (hat tip to Dan Drezner).

Though she chose not to post this comment herself, I fell the need to "out" Stella. First, Stella is the biggest Star Wars freak (er, I mean devoted fan) I've ever known. Imagine her chagrin when the quizzed placed her on Babylon 5. To quote the lovely Stella:

"Congratulations to you on your excellent placement. I did that %*#$ quiz and it put me on Babylon 5. I've never even watched that show. What the h%ll?!?"

So, Stella, I guess St. Caffeine is cooler than you?

Whew! I made it onto the Millenium Falcon (where I secretly plan to kill Princess Lea and marry Han Solo) but barely. Next in line for me was Babylon 5.

I ended up on Serenity, and I have no clue what that is.

Ironically, I scored the lowest for the Enterprise, my favorite sci-fi show, and second lowest for Andromeda, another favorite.

69% for X-Files, although I don't really see how that fits in here.

Har, har. I'm going to one of the chatrooms on starwars.com or theforce.net and circulate that "quiz" and see how many of us get stuck on Babylon 5. Stupid quiz...

Mel, Serenity was the ship from the show Firefly -- short lived Sci-Fi (sort of) Western-type show by Josh Whedon (Buffy, Angel, ...). It would be a cool ship on which to serve.

Stella, you really are showing your nerd roots. Admitting that you know TWO sites, off the top of your head, on which one could start a Star Wars chat!

And now is where I admit I never watched Buffy or Angel. Although I did see the movie Buffy.

But Sci-Fi Western? Now I'm curious...

You didn't watch Buffy or Angel? They both were good shows -- far superior to the Buffy movie. Speaking of movies, they just recently made a Serenity movie too. I'm sure you can "read all about it" with a quick Google.

Sci-fi western??? I'm with Mel on this one. That's just weird. Caff, what was that other weird western show that you used to watch? You remember, I made fun of it.

It was "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." and though VERY few people remember this today, it was supposed to be the star Fox show that season. The Fox execs hoped they could generate some excitement for another show called "X-Files" by putting it right after Brisco. Seriously.
